Victor Osimhen has continued to receive applauds for his decent performances since joining Lille during the summer transfer window and on Wednesday night, October 2, Chelsea battled hard to keep the youngster silent in the second half during their Champions League clash.
Tammy Abraham netted the first goal of the match after 22 minutes, but Osimhen ensured both teams went into the break on level terms, with scores at Lille 1-1 Chelsea.
Speaking moments after the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard took out time to explain that his team’s Champions League clash with Lille could have been much different if Osimhen was missing in action, even as he hailed the Super Eagles striker.
Osimhen was very impressive, it was a very difficult match for our defenders. He is fast and strong. I wish him a great career,” Lampard was quoted as saying by Lille’s official Twitter handle.
💬 #Lampard "Osimhen a été très impressionnant, ça a été un match très difficile pour nos défenseurs. Il est rapide et solide. Je lui souhaite une grande carrière."

But his goal was not enough at the end as Willian’s volley claimed all three points for the Premier League side.
Tammy Abraham scored the first goal for Chelsea in the 22nd minute before Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen restored parity for the French club in the 33rd minute.
